The Dover Players, North Olmsted ’s Community Theater, will celebrate the summer play season with an adaptation of Karel Capek’s play, R.U.R (Rossum’s Universal Robots) - The Robot Play...and Erin and I will be in it! ...first time for both of us doing something like this. We've been rehearsing this play about robots, millions of them, who may(?) take over the world. It runs for the next three weekends, hope you can make it.
The cast is a mix of high schoolers (main leads and robots) and older folks like us...well, like me at least. Nothing much of a set, but we will have some special lighting. We're all having a good time doing it, even if it is a little on the dark side. The first moonlight swim of the season is this Saturday, July 12 from 09:00 to midnight. Pizza, drinks, and games will be part of the festivities. Beer will be available for a nominal cost. Bring a dish to share with everyone. Hope to see you this weekend.
Don't forget about the Bike Parade on Friday July 4th at 10:00 am. We will gather between 9:30 - 10:00 am to organize the age groups. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated bikes!
Just a reminder that every Wednesday night is still reserved for adults only to swim. The hours are 7:45 pm to 9:00 pm. Anyone 18 and over is considered an adult.
Don't forget about the block party at the park this Saturday June 14th. It starts at noon. Bring whatever you like (grills, tables and chairs, drinks, food, etc.) We will provide plastic utensils, plates and napkins. Setup at the west end of the parking lot. There will be a limited electrical supply if needed.
Also, don't forget about the baseball game at 1:00 pm. John Fitzgerald and Dave Reich will coach the kids(17 and under) against the adults. We will have a batting tee for the little guys and gals, the older kids will get to hit against thier parents.
We are looking forward to a fun time that should last all afternoon. [/i][/b]
A gift basket including an Ipod Nano will be raffled off at the Pool
Opening Party on May 25th! The net proceeds will be used for further playground improvements.
Keep an eye out for our dedicated neighborhood kids who will be selling raffle tickets door to door in the upcoming week.
$1 per chance or 6 chances for $5.
Join us in this great effort to kick off yet another Summer full of Fun at Sandy Ridge!
Clean out those attics and closets, then make some
money from selling your old “stuff” you probably forgot
you even had. That’s the idea behind the garage sale
set for May 14, 15 and 16.
This event just grows bigger every year. The plan
is that by having the sale cover the whole subdivision
and by advertising as a group sale, we attract the
most prospective buyers. That way we can clear our
unwanted items and make a little money. Ads are set for
all local newspapers and signs have been placed at the
entrances to our streets.
